The Radio Disney Music Awards (RDMA) is an annual awards show which is operated and governed by Radio Disney, an American radio network. Beginning in 2014, the ceremony began to be televised on Disney Channel.
History[]
The awards honor the year's achievements in music, mainly in the teen pop genre, and are awarded based on popular vote from the network's listeners via online voting. The trophy awarded to a winner is known as the "Golden Mickey" (nicknamed the "Ardy"), a gold-colored statuette with a silhouette figure of Mickey Mouse donning headphones. Before 2014, the ceremony was not televised beyond commercial interstitial segments for Disney Channel to promote their sister radio network. As of the seventh annual ceremony on April 26, 2014, the ceremony began to be televised in full a day after on tape delay, as the network attempts to compete with Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards in airing awards programming.

Sabrina first appeared at the 2014 RDMAs as an awards presenter, performing "Can't Blame a Girl for Trying" during the pre-show. The following year, she performed a medley of "We'll Be the Stars" and "Eyes Wide Open", and won an Ardy for her song "Can't Blame a Girl for Trying", which was nominated for Best Crush Song. At the 2016 RDMAs, she returned as an awards presenter, performed "Smoke and Fire", and won another Ardy for her song "Eyes Wide Open", which was nominated for Best Anthem. At the 2017 RDMAs, she performed "Thumbs", using a neon subway set as a recreation of the song's music video. "On Purpose" was nominated for Best Crush Song, but lost to "Let Me Love You" by DJ Snake featuring Justin Bieber. At the 2018 RDMAs, "Why" was nominated for Best Crush Song, but lost to "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran.
